This week is about more than kiting. It is about building the life you want and have worked for — surrounded by coaches, mentors, movement specialists, physios and like-minded women who share that drive.
A travelling movement house for people who perform at the edge. Performance and recovery are our first priority.
A practice that moves with you.
Kitesurfing loads the body in a very particular way — a harness pulling at the hips, shoulders overhead for hours, landings absorbed through the knees. We prepare for that, protect against it, and reset overnight.
Mobility, strength training, and hands-on correction throughout the week. It is crucial to know when to push and when to restore. Creating this level of awareness with you is of utmost importance to us. We are not here to tell you what to do — we are here to help you identify exactly what your body needs to be the best version of yourself, on and off the water.
Salt Lake City, Cape Town, Tarifa, Greece, Mykonos, Hood River and now Brazil — plus the juniqua Ladies Club, and most recently a full weekend with Paradiso Wellness Living in Icaraí.
That is the one thing we ask of you. If you can get back to where you started and look after yourself on a kite, you are ready for this week — and everything above that line is what we are here to teach.
One honest note. If you can ride upwind and look after yourself on a kite, the rest can be taught — and that is exactly why you are coming. We put real weight on safety: self-rescue, launching and landing cleanly, reading conditions before you rig, and what to do the moment you feel overpowered. Where to ride, how to understand a kite spot, the rotations — all of that comes with the week.
Barra Grande is a laid-back fishing village on Brazil's north-eastern coast, near the Parnaíba Delta. From July to January, consistent easterly and south-easterly trade winds typically deliver 15–30 knots, warm water and excellent kiteboarding conditions. It is our home base for the week, with access to open-water riding, flat-water spots and downwind adventures along the coast.
Shared water. Every spot on this coast is public, and we share it with local riders and other visitors. We plan each day's running order on the beach, once we have seen the wind, the tide and the crowd.
Flat and warm. This is where most of the lessons will happen — they may also happen in front of the beach club. It will all be tide and weather dependent.
You have a choice depending on your skill level. Ride downwind from the beach club — about five to ten minutes — to the Macapá lagoon, or take the donkey down to the lagoon instead.
Macapá offers a different perspective of the Piauí coastline. Along the way, the landscape opens into sandbanks, tidal channels and flatter-water sections, creating opportunities to explore varied riding conditions. The route and any lagoon stops depend on the wind, tide and conditions on the day.
One guided downwinder during the week. The day is set by the tide. Shared water. These beaches and riding areas are shared with local kiters and other visitors. Each session is planned around the conditions, with the route, launch and landing points, and safety considerations confirmed before we ride.
The beach club and kite point in Barra Grande, and our base camp during certain parts of each day.
Storage and concierge on site. Your gear is rigged and ready at the call time.
The group gathers here before each downwinder, and one morning the whole camp practises on the deck before the wind fills in.
Pool, loungers, and the option for lunch and drinks at sunset. This will be yours to order and settle as you like.

Which one depends on final numbers. Either way you are a few minutes from the water, a few minutes from BOHAM, and in the same place as the rest of the group.
Fixed either way: six nights, breakfast daily, twin share. You can ask for your own room at an additional cost, on a first come, first served basis, subject to availability.
Which accommodation we use, and how rooms are arranged within it, depends on final group size and on availability at the time of booking. We confirm the details with you once numbers are final.
Breakfast is included every morning, with light snacks and refreshments at the house and at the lagoon during training. Lunch and dinner are at your own account.
Run a tab and settle it with them directly.
Barra Grande is small, but the food and the vibes are exceptional — seafood, Nordeste home cooking, açaí, a couple of places worth dressing for, but keep it light. It is hot and humid, so bring light fabrics with you.

Times are a guide. The schedule may shift a little each day with the wind, tide and weather, and we adjust it accordingly.
Fifteen years guiding kite trips on this coast, and still on the water almost every day. He knows the delta, the mangrove channels and the tide windows the way locals know streets.
Available on top of the daily group coaching, at extra cost. These must be booked in advance — on a first come, first served basis — booked directly through ORRA, and we arrange it with him before you travel.
You come out of this camp with real content — high-quality stills, beautiful beach club shots, and reels from your video analysis you can post as the week goes on, depending on how your riding goes that day. And the analysis itself gives you a far clearer idea of what your body needs and where to make the changes.
A photographer and videographer with the group all week — on the beach and on the water.
Video of each rider played back and talked through with the coaches, so you can see where to make the changes and where to push next.
Edited stills and clips shared with the group each day — yours to post, print and keep. Please tag @orraglobal and juniqua, along with the photographers and any other partners from the day.
Please note: edited photographs, or video filmed of you individually, come at an extra cost. Let us know in advance and we will arrange it and confirm the cost with you.
ORRA is the official movement, performance and recovery partner to juniqua — gear designed around how women actually ride.
Please bring your own complete gear. Demo gear will be available to try on the lagoon during the week.
We close the week the way we open the mornings — together, quiet, with intention. Ceremonial cacao.
Recognising the week each of you had.
A long table, local food, and sharing in all of your achievements for the week.
Prizes and giveaways from our brand partners on the night, discount codes on purchases created specifically for this camp, and access to every ORRA social event and social club through 2027.
None of these are in the camp fee. All of them are easier if you tell us before you travel.
Restaurant bookings too. We arrange dinners for you, booking ahead and pre-ordering what you would like, so the food is waiting when we arrive. You settle the bill at the table (there is one catered dinner, on the last night).

| Conditions | Sessions move with wind and tide. November sits inside the season: steady easterly and south-easterly trades at roughly 15–30 knots, air around 28–32°C and water around 28°C, with little rain. Weather, wind and tide are outside our control, and by booking you accept them as part of the week |
| Shared water | Kite spots are public and shared with local riders and other visitors. ORRA has no exclusive use of any spot and cannot control how busy it is. Each day's running order is set on site, once the coaches have assessed the conditions and the crowd |
Kitesurfing carries inherent risk of injury. Every rider signs a waiver and completes a health questionnaire before arriving, and participation is voluntary and at the rider's own risk.
ORRA Global delivers the movement and recovery programme. Travel and medical insurance covering kitesurfing is mandatory for every rider.
Riders who are not self-sufficient will unfortunately not be considered for this camp — we will be hosting camps for beginners at a later stage. Coaches may shorten, move or cancel any session on safety grounds.
Pushing my body has always come naturally. Recovering is what I had to learn.
I did not come to this from sport alone. I came from medicine, property law and real estate, but sport runs in my family. My grandfather was a well-known footballer in South Africa, my mother swam for South Africa, and my grandmother used sport to teach children in her community discipline and self-belief. I have boxed, run ultramarathons, done yoga since childhood and trained with strength and mobility coaches. Alongside that came the inner work: Louise L. Hay’s You Can Heal Your Life, Dr John Demartini, mentors, and walking eight metres of hot coals. Losing my parents taught me to find the tools to understand my own mind and body.
When kiting came along, I wanted to keep running, hiking, snowboarding and doing yoga too. Nobody was teaching how to recover from all of it, so I studied, worked with coaches and built the ORRA Ride Ready Method™. It changed how I train, ride and recover.
ORRA is a movement house that travels, because I travel. I partnered with juniqua because its founder did the same with gear: she needed kites built for women, so she made them.
This week is how I have always wanted to teach, guide and mentor. Working with people is my path and my passion. If the week changes something for you, even in a small way, it has done what I built it to do.
Every morning starts with mobility work: hips, shoulders, lower back, hands. The group is small and women only, and most of you will arrive not knowing anyone.
I will be there all week, on the water and at every morning session. Your progression is my progression, and seeing you find what fuels you is an absolute gift.
If you want to ride better and feel better doing it, this is your week.

Everything we get asked about the week. If something is not here, write to us and we will answer it.
You need to be able to ride upwind and look after yourself on a kite. If you can get back to where you started, water-start reliably and handle your own kite, you are ready for this week.
Everything above that line is what we are here to teach. We are not running a beginner course this time — those camps come later.
Between five and twelve riders, with one coach and an assistant coach when needed. Five is the minimum for the week to run, twelve is the hard ceiling, and it is a women-only week.
Outside the fee: flights, airport transfers, lunch and dinner, drinks, your own gear, insurance, physiotherapy and any private lessons.
Full payment is due on booking, through our Wise payment link. Your place is confirmed once payment is received.
We ask for payment in full because we need five riders confirmed before we can commit to the house, the coaches, the boats, the extra staff, the food and the kite storage — and every one of those is booked well before November.
Your place is charged in full unless we are able to resell it. If we do fill it, you are refunded less any transfer costs.
Running a small-group camp means committing to accommodation, coaches, staff, transport and services well in advance, and those costs are fixed whether or not every rider travels. With so few places, a single cancellation is a significant loss we cannot absorb. Comprehensive travel insurance that covers cancellation is strongly recommended. We trust you understand.
Yes, and it has to cover kitesurfing by name. Most standard travel policies either exclude it or treat it as an extreme sport needing an add-on.
Make sure it includes medical cover and repatriation. We ask to see it before you travel.
Parnaíba (PHB) is closest — roughly an hour and a quarter from the village. It is a domestic airport, so you connect to it from within Brazil.
Jericoacoara (JJD) also works. It is about two and a half hours by road.
We arrange transfers from either airport for you, at your own cost.
Send us your flights before you book them and we can advise you accordingly.
Yes. We arrange both directions at no charge for arranging — you cover the driver's cost directly, and we confirm what that is with you in advance.
Send flight numbers and arrival times as soon as they are booked.
It depends on your passport, and the rules have changed more than once in recent years. Most European passports do not need a visa for a stay this short. US, Canadian and Australian passports currently need an e-visa, applied for online before you travel.
Check the Brazilian government's own e-visa guidance for your nationality before you book flights, and apply at least a month before you fly — processing is not instant, and it is the one thing we cannot fix for you at the airport.
Yellow fever vaccination is recommended for Piauí, though Brazil does not ask for proof on arrival. Have it at least ten days before you fly, and check with a travel clinic first — what else they recommend depends on where you are flying from and your own history.
Yes. Plenty of riders want to make a longer trip of it, and we are happy to arrange an extra stay and itinerary for you, at a fee. Ask us and we will tell you what is possible either side of the week.
November sits inside the season. Steady easterly and south-easterly trades at roughly 15–30 knots, air around 28–32°C, water around 28°C.
The home lagoon is flat and warm. Most coaching happens there. The spot in front of the beach club is choppier and gustier, but plenty of riders enjoy it all the same.
November sits inside the windy season — steady easterly and south-easterly trades at 15–30 knots, with little rain. Sessions move with the wind and the tide, and the coaches make that call each morning.
We cannot refund for conditions.
Yes — a full set of gear. Kite, bar and lines with spares, board with pads and handle, harness, impact vest, and a helmet, which is compulsory.
juniqua demo gear will be available to try on the lagoon during the week.
Tell us your weight and what you normally ride and we will come back with a recommendation for 15–30 knots.
Your equipment is your responsibility throughout the trip, including in transit, in storage and while it is moved between spots. Gear travels by air, by car, by buggy and by donkey, often over sand and in salt air, and some wear, scuffs or damage along the way is outside our control. If you want extra protection, bring board bags and covers.
ORRA Global and its partners accept no liability for equipment that is lost, stolen, delayed or damaged, whether by an airline, a transfer or during the camp. Please make sure your travel insurance covers your gear for its full value. Travel with your harness and bar in hand luggage where you can.
One guided downwinder in the week, with a guide on the water the whole way and transfers for you and your gear.
The day and the route are set by the tide and confirmed closer to the time.
Kitesurfing carries inherent risk of injury, and we do not pretend otherwise. You take part entirely at your own risk. Every rider signs a waiver and completes a health questionnaire before arriving, and a helmet is compulsory on the water.
A real part of the week goes into the things that keep you safe for every session after this one: self-rescue, launching and landing cleanly, reading conditions before you rig, and what to do the moment you feel overpowered.
Our coaches have the final say on the water. We may shorten, move or cancel any session, or stop coaching an individual rider, at our discretion: if conditions become unsuitable, or if we have any reasonable doubt about a rider's fitness, ability or safety to kite. No refund is due when we do.
Yes. Being able to swim confidently in open water, without a board, is a condition of joining the camp, and we cannot accept riders who cannot swim.
Kitesurfing carries inherent risk, and things on the water can happen quickly. By booking, you confirm that you are a competent swimmer and that you take part at your own risk, as set out in the waiver you sign before arrival. Our team is on and around the water to support you, but your safety in the water remains your responsibility.
It is the movement and recovery side of the week, built around what kitesurfing actually does to a body.
Nothing is compulsory. But it is a core part of the camp and of what we offer: it is how you build yourself up and grow stronger, on the water and off it.
Yes, on top of the daily group coaching, at extra cost. Booked in advance through us on a first come, first served basis.
A photographer and videographer are with the group all week — on the beach and on the water. Edited stills and clips are shared with the group each day, yours to post, print and keep.
We kindly ask you to tag @orraglobal and juniqua, along with the photographers and any other partners from the day. Individual edits, or video filmed of you alone, come at extra cost and need arranging in advance.
Use of images. By booking, you consent to ORRA Global, juniqua and their partners photographing and filming you during the camp, and to using that photography and footage, including your image and likeness, in any media, worldwide and without time limit, for marketing, promotional and editorial purposes, without payment to you. If you would rather not appear in published material, tell us in writing before the camp begins and we will respect that as far as we reasonably can.
Either a private house taken for the group, or suites at Arrey Boutique Hotel in the village. Which one depends on final numbers.
Fixed either way: six nights, breakfast daily, a few minutes from the water and from BOHAM, and the whole group in the same place. Twin share as standard. You can ask for your own room at an additional cost, on a first come, first served basis, subject to availability.
Another rider from the camp. Most people arrive on their own, which is rather the point — women arrive alone and leave as a group. If you would rather have your own room from the start, say so when you book.
Breakfast is included every morning. Lunch and dinner are your own account.
We pre-arrange a couple of very good dinner options and take orders in advance, so by the time you are off the water and showered, dinner is ready. Lunch at BOHAM runs on a tab you settle with them directly. The closing dinner is included; drinks are not.
Tell us when you book and we will work it through with the house and the restaurants. Barra Grande does fish and fresh food extremely well — strict vegan or coeliac takes more planning, which is exactly why we want to know early rather than on arrival.
Yes, there is WiFi everywhere we stay and spend time.
Yes, there is a laundry service, at an extra cost.
Around 500 Brazilian reais in cash covers the week for the things cards do not. Cards work for most things, including your BOHAM tab and the restaurants in the village.
Piauí runs at 220V on the Brazilian three-pin socket (type N). European two-pin plugs push into it; UK, US and Australian plugs do not. Bring a universal adapter.
An eSIM is simplest — buy one before you fly and it connects when you land.
Barra Grande is a small fishing village at the edge of the Delta do Parnaíba. Transfers are arranged door to door, the group stays in one place, and we are with you from the airport to the last dinner.
Your complete gear: your kite quiver, bars, replacement lines and spare bladders if you might need them. Bring anything you think you could need for gear or repairs, because kite parts and repair supplies are limited here. Then your harness, impact vest and helmet. Rash vest or shorty — the water sits around 28°C. Reef-safe sun cream and zinc, sunglasses with a leash, a refillable bottle.
For the programme: clothes you can move in, a mat if you are particular about yours, and whatever tape, balls or bands your body needs.
Keep it all light. It is hot and very humid, and you will not need a warm coat or jacket. Evenings can feel a little cooler, so a light jumper is plenty. I travel with one and a pair of joggers, and that is all.
